We are closely monitoring House Bill 815 and Senate Bill 405. Should this legislation pass, the Virginia Health Workforce Development Authority (VHWDA) will proudly partner with the Virginia Department of Health to transition nursing-related health incentive programs. These nursing-related incentive programs (scholarships, nurse preceptor incentive, and Earn to Learn) will be administered by the Virginia Nursing Workforce Center. Should the legislation pass, this transition will be completed by July 2026.
The Virginia Department of Health is currently accepting applications for certain scholarships before this transition takes place. You can find information about the available scholarships here.
