VIRGINIA NURSING LOAN REPAYMENT PROGRAM (RN)
REGISTERED NURSE
Up to $10,000 Award
For Registered Nurses (RNs) with qualified educational loans who commit to working in nursing in Virginia.
Eligibility Requirements for NLRP RN:
- Have been a resident of Virginia for at least one year
- Hold a valid, current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Virginia Board of Nursing
- Be currently employed on a full-time or part-time basis (as defined by employer) as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a Virginia healthcare facility or setting. PRN (as-needed) or casual employment does not qualify.
- Demonstrate at least six months of work experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) within the past year
- Have a demonstrated history of qualified educational loans not in deferment status
- Be in good standing with all professional licensure boards
- Not have a breach of prior Virginia Nursing Loan Repayment Program (VNLRP) or similar workforce development contracts
- Commit to the 2-year service obligation
- Have not received the Virginia Nurse Loan Repayment Award in the past 5 years

LICENSED PRACTICING NURSE (LPN)
Up to $5,000 Award
For Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) with qualified educational loans who commit to working in nursing in Virginia.
Eligibility Requirements for NLRP LPN:
- Have been a resident of Virginia for at least one year
- Hold a valid, current, unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the Virginia Board of Nursing
- Be currently employed on a full-time or part-time basis (as defined by employer) as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in a Virginia healthcare facility or setting. PRN (as-needed) or casual employment does not qualify.
- Demonstrate at least six months of work experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) within the past year

For Certified Nurse Aides (CNAs) with qualified educational loans who commit to working in nursing in Virginia
Eligibility Requirements for Loan Repayment CNA:
- Have been a resident of Virginia for at least one year
- Hold a valid, current, unencumbered Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) license issued by the Virginia Board of Nursing
- Be currently employed on a full-time or part-time basis (as defined by employer) as a CNA in a Virginia healthcare facility or setting. PRN (as-needed) or casual employment does not qualify.
- Demonstrate at least six months of work experience as a CNA within the past year
- Have a demonstrated history of qualified educational loans not in deferment status
- Be in good standing with all professional licensure boards
- Not have a breach of prior Virginia Nursing Loan Repayment Program (VNLRP) or similar workforce development contracts
- Commit to the 2-year service obligation
